A man has been arrested after allegedly smashing his way into a Sydney office on Monday morning.
The 55-year-old man allegedly used a hammer to break into the Australian Medical Association (AMA) office on Christie Street in St Leonards about 10am.
AMA staff heard a “loud smash” at their front door, the AMA said in a statement.

“Staff members in a nearby conference room walked out to find a man who had entered the premises with a hammer,” the AMA spokesperson said.
“After being approached by staff, the man turned, walked out and crouched at the front door where he waited until police arrived.”
The 55-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Chatswood Police Station, where he is assisting police with inquiries.
An investigation is ongoing.
