In an update on Wednesday afternoon, police said they believe the body may have been at the location for several days.

“Police have been informed that the body was located by contractors conducting a pest inspection in the nearby vicinity,” NSW Police said.

The body is believed to be that of a man who was wearing black shorts and blue sneakers.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Police told 7NEWS at this stage they haven’t found any signs of foul play; however, the investigation is still in its infancy.

7NEWS chopper footage from Wednesday morning showed police divers working to retrieve the body from the lake.

Police say they were called to the club following reports of a concern for welfare.

“Officers are being assisted by PolAir and the Marine Area Command,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The course is now closed while investigations are carried out.
