Two people have been rushed to hospital following a multi-vehicle car accident in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Two vehicles crashed about 6.30am on Mona Vale Rd and Alder Drive in St Ives.

Two people were treated at the scene and have now been transported to Northern Beaches Hospital.

7NEWS understands both patients are in a stable condition.

No information about their ages or genders has been released at this stage.

All eastbound lanes on Mona Vale Rd were closed for approximately a half hour, with motorists facing significant delays.

All lanes have now re-opened.

Traffic is still heavy as a result, and motorists are advised to allow extra time for their trip.
